Before I started school full time, everybody warned me how hard it was going to be to work and do school full time. The reality is that it is not as hard as some people play it out to be. Of course, people have different things going on in life that can definitely make this difficult, but there are ways to make juggling these two things easier while being able to maintain a good social life. In this blog, I will share with you things that I do to help me manage school, work, and my social life.

First off, school should always be the number 1 thing before work, and everything else, at least I think it is. So what I do is try to find a day in my week where I can do a lot of my school work so that I am not stressing about assignments all week while being at work or trying to go out. Another thing that helps me is keeping track of when my assignments are due. Usually, all I need to do is look through my due dates and I usually can remember without setting reminders. If you are pretty forgetful then set a reminder on your phone a day before an assignment is due.

Sometimes life does catch up to me. I like to go out. I also like to do well in school. To go out I need money. Those things can really slow you down sometimes. Thankfully, I do school online and my job is super flexible with my schedule and I get all my weekends off. I know that is not the case for everybody. But if it weren't that way, I would make sure to find a work schedule that worked around my school and social life.

Doing this helps me maintain a good social life. I like to go out to eat and go shopping. I also like to travel. Being a full-time online student, I can bring my laptop anywhere to complete an assignment if I really needed to.

For a person with very little responsibilities and no children, it is easy. Now for people who do have kids and other responsibilities I can definitely see how it can be very hard. But for someone like me, don't be discouraged! There is ways to manage all three things.

For my social life, I make sure to have my weekends free of school and work. This is why I find it important to do my school work in the week. Even on days that I work, I come home, shower, and do a little school work.

So far, everything has worked out for me and I am aware of the privilege I have of not having a circumstance in my life that interferes, but my point here is that it's not as scary as it seems to be. Trust me, I was scared before I started school. With a good routine and good habits, you can make this time in your life run smoothly.

  2. Greeting Genesis, First and foremost I'd like to say that you forgot to put a Title to this blog post as well as the entry number. Secondly, I work full time and can't get all my school work done in the week so, it merges into my weekends. It's nice to know you don't have that issue often. I appreciate all the tips you gave out. I enjoyed how you talked about your situation first and then tied it to connect with your audience. The image you used, is that something you're trying to pursue or do you currently have that occupation?
